[FR] Écrivain de cinéma (Chicago Reader, Soho News), correspondant régulier de Traffic, la revue francaise fondée par Serge Daney, il a écrit de nombreux livres dont Film: The Front line (octobre 1983). Il a organisé avec Jackie Raynal des programmations au Bleecker Street Cinema, notamment un hommage à Jacques Rivette (Rivette in context) et, deux années de suite, en 1977 et en 1978, une Semaine Cahiers du Cinéma en présence de Serge Daney. Dans son livre de mémoire, Moving Places (mars 1995), il parle entre autres du Bleecker Street Cinema.

[EN] Film critic (Chicago Reader, Soho News) and regular correspondent for Trafic, the French magazine founded by Serge Daney, he has also written numerous books, including Film: The Front Line 1983. He organized with Jackie Raynal a few programs for the Bleecker Street Cinema, notably a tribute to Jacques Rivette (Rivette in context) and, in 1977 and 1978, week-long programs devoted to Cahiers du Cinéma, with the participation of Serge Daney. In his book of memoirs, Moving Places: A Life at the Movies (1980; 2nd ed., 1995), he writes about, among other things, the Bleecker Street Cinema.
